The 7^th China Xiamen International Stone Fair(CXISF) opened in rain on March 8, 2007 at the Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Centre. Ye Shuangyu, vice provincial governor and Huang Ling, vice Mayor attended the fair. Mr. Lin Shuxi, chairmen of CCPIT Xiamen Sub-Council addressed at the opening ceremony.

 

Xiamen is an international city with Xiamen Port----making it the largest stone import and export port in China. CXISF was supported by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and Xiamen Municipal Government, was co-organized by China Chamber of Commerce of Metals Minerals & Chemicals Importers & Exporters, Xiamen Municipal Trade Development Bureau and CCPIT Xiamen Sub-Council, and was hosted by Xiamen Jinhongxin Exhibition Co.,Ltd.. With the guidelines of “Export-oriented, Combine import and export, domestic and foreign trade”, CXISF further highlighted the internationalized, specialized and market-oriented features to attract domestic and foreign stone import and export enterprises and manufacturers to exhibit. The organizers claimed that CXISF was expanded to 58,000 square meters, attracted more than 850 domestic and foreign exhibitors. The hall was divided into five pavilions: natural stone products, stone machinery and equipment, international area, blocks and kitchen cabinets. There were more than 45,000 visitors. Foreign visitors came from Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, etc.

 

CXISF organized some forums such as “2007 China Stone Industry Forum” and “2007 Sino-Japan Dialogue on Stone” to discuss the recent development of stone industry.

 

There was only one day free between STONETECH and CXISF. People might compare the two

“Biggest in Asia” exhibitions.

 

Exhibitors found that CXISF has expanded its scale and grade. The halls were tidy and clean and it’s convenient to build up and remove the booths. Most of visitors were professional, but some just looked around. From long-term perspective, it will work. Its entertainment facilities were good, especially the foods such as the Coffee Club to meet different people’s taste.

 

Visitors agreed with CXISF’s larger scale. They could easily find what they want due to the cleat maps. The scales of exhibitors were larger and the exhibitors were more professional than before. CXISF was worth to come and it will have a bright future.

 

STONETECH and CXISF are different on its focus. Especially for those block suppliers, STONETECH focuses more on projects. Buyers and visitors are more interested in the finished materials. But CXISF comes to the direct business of buying and selling blocks. Thanks for its location, people can go to the factory for investigation. In simple words, STONETECH focuses on projects, while CXISF focuses on materials trading.
